Deep Roots, Living Practice: Three-Year Shamanic Practitioner Training
Since the dawn of civilisation, shamanism has been a profound spiritual practice found across cultures, rooted in direct connection with the world of spirit for healing, guidance, and transformation. Shamans serve as bridges between the physical and spiritual realms, using sacred practices to restore balance and harmony, support personal growth, and navigate life’s challenges.
This three-year practitioner training weaves together cross-cultural shamanic healing and empowerment techniques, honouring ancient traditions while embracing the needs of the modern world. Designed for those drawn to the healing arts, it provides deep immersion in shamanic practice, preparing participants to become skilled practitioners. Over the course of nine intensive six-day residential components, students will gain hands-on experience in powerful healing methodologies while also being the beneficiaries of healings themselves.
More than just a training, this is a transformative and empowering journey of self-discovery – a life-adventure! It guides you toward deeper alignment with your authentic self, unlocking your unique gifts, strengths and talents. Rooted in ancestral heritage yet fully relevant today, the training fosters a strong sense of community, cultivating deep relationships that support and inspire. Over three years, you’ll not only learn shamanic practices you’ll embody them, learning to walk the sacred path in your daily life.
Whilst not limited to, the three-year training will cover:
• Shamanic Counselling – the methodology for teaching others the practice of Soul Flight and the exploration of the Shamanic Map, fostering self-reliance and empowerment by guiding them to receive direct and divine revelations from their own spirit kin for counsel and direction in life.
• Soul Retrieval and Shamanic Extraction – an exploration of soul medicine, focusing on how and why we may lose fragments of our soul – typically as a result of trauma – and the practices for retrieving and reintegrating them. This process restores wholeness, reconnecting individuals with the gifts, strengths, and talents that define their pure essence. Additionally, we will examine the origins of negative object intrusions, their potential to cause emotional and physical illness, and the practice of non-ordinary methods for their removal.
• Divination – exploring the practice of shamanic divination – unique and powerful ways to access spirit guidance, gaining insight into life’s questions and challenges, and uncovering hidden wisdom through connection with the unseen realms. Additionally, we will observe the nature of omens and how they offer answers and guidance in our lives.
• Compassionate Depossession and the Shaman as Psychopomp – mastering advanced techniques for compassionately releasing suffering spirit possessions that negatively impact the host’s life, while also guiding lost or mislocated spirits back to their rightful place. Additionally, we will learn and perform the sacred ceremonial practice of the Psychopomp – from the Greek word psychopompós, meaning ‘soul guide’ – to assist and guide ‘lost souls’ in their transition to the afterlife.
• Curse Unravelling – throughout human history, the practice of sorcery, curses and cursing, played a significant role in the lives of our ancestors. Some of these curses remain active along ancestral lines, continuing to create negative ramifications in the present. We will learn to safely trace a curse to its origin, understand its impact, and clear it, breaking the cycles of veils and vexation. Additionally, we will explore contemporary cursing – including familial, societal, and self-imposed curses – examining their negative impact on our lives and discovering techniques for healing and release.
• Healing Circles – we will learn shamanic spirit-merging techniques, partnering with tutelary kin, spirit allies, gods, and deities. Through this practice, we will participate in community healing circles, where the shaman becomes the voice of the merge, offering wisdom, insight, and healing guidance to the pilgrim.
In addition the three-year training will involve meeting and working with your specialist spirit healing allies and protectors, learning and practising healing techniques, engaging in ceremonies and rituals, exploring creative expression and mask-work, deepening your connection with the land, undergoing initiations, participating in sacred dances, embarking on a pilgrimage to a profoundly sacred place, homework, and ongoing supervisory support. This body of work offers unique teachings that are not offered elsewhere through courses and workshops run by From Our Roots.
